Heavy Rain Drinking Game - Hair of the Dog
Originally published February, 2015.The Playstation 3 mystery thriller, Heavy Rain, by developer Quantic Dream, is prone to some significant patterns, cliches, and familiar situations. Despite all this, the game itself can shift hard between super intriguing and extremely boring. To help cope with these lulls, here is the Heavy Rain Drinking Game to wet your dog whistle:
"Jason" or "Shaun" is said by a character - This can be heavily affected by the player of the game.
A character’s facial expression--despite the so-called “detail” of the PS3--is deep in the uncanny valley due to their Dead Eyes.
The camera is positioned in a “provocative” way, or the content of the camera angle can be classified as "sexual".
The FBI agent freaks out from his withdrawals.
A character, that is supposed to be American, has the subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) tones of a French accent - QuanticDream is a French-based game developer, so it’s no surprise that voice actors were likely chosen more based on their proximity than their ability to mask their accent.
A quick time event for a very simple or basic task - Obviously, the whole game is a quick time event, but some moments in particular require a delicate touch or timing for the very basic tasks, like setting the table, shaving, tying a tie, etc.
