Marvel Infinity Saga Review Blitz

After watching the entirety of the very entertaining Netflix Daredevil series and the disappointing first season of Daredevil: Born Again, I felt compelled to see what I had been missing for the past ten years. You see, despite being a Marvel comics fan as a kid, with various comics and card collections, and VHS tapes with recordings of the Spider-Man and X-Men animated show episodes I might have missed due to swim lesson appointments, I didn’t keep up with Marvel movies when the franchise was at its peak in hype and popularity. I saw Iron Man (2008), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Iron Man 2 (2010), and The Avengers (2012) when they were new. However, different variables in life at the time made me miss the next few movies, and I never felt the motivation to catch up with them. Now, I’ve finally gotten more free time and a consistent schedule that allows me to finally see what everyone was raving about…well, until the dark times, until Disney The Empire.

While I may not have seen these movies for myself when they were new, I have not been completely out of the loop when it comes to the state of Marvel. I’m well aware that the franchise has been in decline since The Avengers: Endgame (2019). Some may argue the steepness of that decline as well as whether it started before or after Infinity War, but the general sentiment is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and when it was most impressively cohesive in its storytelling techniques were at the beginning and the end of the Infinity Saga. Therefore, I have set out to see each of the movies in the MCU that were released in the first three phases. Much like I did for the James Bond franchise, I’ll write a review for each film, sprinkle them here and there throughout the rest of the year, and then rank them all at the end. If Infinity Saga ends strong enough, I may just go on to the next phases (but probably not).
